Lauren Vaughn, LPC-Supervisor

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, providing psychotherapy in Austin, Texas.  I am married and have four beautiful daughters- Mackenzie, Hannah, Avery and Payton- who light up my life while challenging me daily.  I also have a small dog, Marty, who often acts as my fifth child.  I continue to learn how to juggle each new role that I take on in my life- whether it is being a counselor, mom, wife, friend, etc.  Each day, I grow and learn while also recognizing that I am imperfect and often must rely on others for support.  I have learned to embrace the importance of relationships and the positive connection that comes through human interaction.  I am adventurous, down to earth, and easygoing.  I am an avid reader and love learning.

I am currently certified as a Positive Discipline educator and have many years of experience walking alongside families during these difficult yet rewarding years. I have more than ten years of experience learning about and working with individuals with eating disorders.  I am a member of the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) where I have attended two national conferences in San Diego and New York City in order to connect with other professionals while continuing to learn about the best approaches to treatment.  I am also listed as a provider for Austin Eating Disorder Specialists (AEDS) and attend monthly meetings where I dedicate time for education and consultation pertaining to this disorder.  I also have experience working in an outpatient eating disorder treatment center in Austin, Texas where I offered individual, group and family counseling sessions. As a counselor, I bring much of my personality into each session.  I enjoy connecting with others and building relationships with clients that are based on trust and respect.  I hope to enrich the lives of the clients that I serve by working alongside each individual while offering guidance, support and a sense of understanding.
