Pregnancy/Postpartum Care

Struggles with pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care look different for everyone.  Some women are unable (or struggle for years) to get pregnant while other women find themselves pregnant by “accident.”  Many women give birth to healthy babies, while other women lose their children to miscarriage and/or difficulties during the birthing process.  Whatever your unique situation looks like, pregnancy struggles are often lonely, isolating and confusing.

It is common for women to experience mood changes during and after pregnancy including feeling tired, irritable or worried.  While mild mood changes are common during this time, mood symptoms that persist and become severe enough may require additional help.  Perinatal Mood Disorders are related to mood and anxiety symptoms that occur during pregnancy or up to one year postpartum.
